Ruby Nell Bridges Hall also know as "Ruby Bridges" was a civil rights activist. She was the first African American to attend a white public elementary school.Although many whites dislike her attending school she still had the courage to attend, even though she was only six years of age. Riots broke out that she even had to be escorted by her mother and U.S marshals. She was a brave little girl. It is unacceptable of people treating her like she is worthless. She is also a human being. People should not have reacted the way they did especially towards a six year old. Instead of causing mass chaos, they should just learn to accept the fact that the world is changing and colored people are the reason why. Ruby Bridges was not the only one affected by going to school. Her family suffered as well. Everyone had turned there backs on Ruby and her family. The public eventually began to back them up and support the Bridge family in ways they could. Even though it was devestating to see a young girl suffer, it helps others see that even children can change the world. Now, Ruby Bridges is forever considered a hero and we should be grateful for her courage.
